Human Collaborative Robots

Flexible, Safe, Easy-to-Use

Shortages of skilled labor because of aging populations are increasing the need for flexible production. Cobots can work alongside humans without safety fences and are intended to be easier to program and operate than their industrial cousins. However, safety assessments are still required for the end effectors, payloads, and workspaces, noted the company.

Highly versatile and portable, HC-series robots are ideal for a variety of tasks including machine tending, material handling, packaging and light assembly. Designed to work safely with, or in the same workspaces as humans, these six-axis human-collaborative robots meet established safety standards.

The CASE for Collaboration

Enhanced Worker Safety

  • Power and Force Limiting (PFL) technology enables humans to safely work with robots.
  • Smooth, yet durable, construction design eliminates pinch points.
  • Through-arm utilities eliminate external cables and associated risks.

Optimized Production Rates

  • Industrial-grade speeds and payloads for real-world applications (based on risk assessment).
  • Easy programming and hand guiding facilitate quick changeover.

Fast System Integration

  • Intuitive programming methods provide quick and easy learning curve.

The Yaskawa human-collaborative robot (HC10) is a new generation of robotics that is capable, affordable, versatile, easy to use and built with the industrial strength for which Yaskawa is known. These robots are for customers looking for easy automation, meaning an industrial robot to automate tasks that require it to work in close proximity to humans.

HC10DT + Smart Pendant

Designed for a wide selection of applications, the 6-axis HC10DT human-collaborative robot is simple and easy to program for quick implementation. In addition to robot programming through the easy-to-use touchscreen Smart Pendant with built-in Smart Frame technology, the HC10DT also provides enhanced hand-guided teaching for fast deployment or redeployment on demand.

Easily adaptable, the HC10DT can be integrated with existing automation infrastructure, and it meets established safety standards, enabling humans to safely work with robots. Depending on a risk assessment, this cobot can operate without additional protective measures as well.

  • Enables humans to safely work with robots
  • Thru-arm utilities eliminate external cables and associated risks, and simplify end-of-arm tooling installation
  • Cast aluminum construction for industrial durability
  • Designed to avoid pinch points, increasing worker safety
  • Easy teaching for quick implementation
  • Can reach full, 80-inch tall pallets without an elevator

Radically Change the Way a Robot is Programmed

Ideal for novice robot users, the easy-to-use touchscreen Smart Pendant simplifies INFORM programming for easy-to-understand operation and fast implementation of the robot system. The Smart Pendant’s intuitive Human Machine Interface (HMI) adapts to the programmer’s style, and the built-in Smart Frame feature allows the robot to adapt to the operator’s position, eliminating the utilization of coordinate frames and allowing for easy robot jogging. Smart Pendant is included with all Smart Series robots.

  • Fast, simple learning curve
  • Easy troubleshooting and error recovery
  • Easy-to-understand operation; intuitive format
  • Simplified INFORM programming supports powerful controller functionality
  • 10-inch touchscreen, tablet-based interface
